UConn Institute for Collaboration on Heath, Intervention, and Policy (InCHIP)

InCHIP is a dedicated supporter of the Korey Stringer Institute, providing comprehensive support so investigators can conduct impactful research relating to heat safety, hydration, injury prevention, and
strength and conditioning for athletes, laborers, and warfighters. InCHIP offers grant management services, assists with travel and training opportunities, and provides valuable support for graduate students. InCHIP currently manages 37 KSI grants totaling about $11.7 million. Beyond these services, InCHIP facilitates training programs that support junior faculty and graduate student development. Among these opportunities is InCHIP’s NIH Grant Writing Bootcamp, which features a day-long session that covers strategies for writing compelling NIH grant proposals. The session is followed by intensive workshop sessions for participants to gain hands-on experience with the grant writing process. InCHIP has also bolstered KSI investigators’ success through its Seed Grant program. InCHIP seed grants fund pilot research that will lay the groundwork for external grant applications.
