Erica Filep, Ph.D., LAT, ATC

Erica M. Filep recieved her Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut in 2022. Prior to arriving at TAMU-CC, Dr. Filep obtained her B.S. in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida in 2012 and Masters of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) from James Madison University in 2015, focusing on emergency cardiac care education in Athletic Training programs. From 2018-2022, she served as the Director of Sport Safety at the Korey Stringer Institute (KSI) at the University of Connecticut. Her clinical experience includes providing medical services to secondary schools in Florida and Connecticut. Dr. Filep’s research interests include heat acclimation, thermal physiology in women, effects of heat stress on cognition, and evidence-based practice policy implementation and adoption. Dr. Filep is originally from Tampa, Florida.
