Julia Yitts

Assistant Director of Occupational Safety

In the fall of 2024, Julia joined the Korey Stringer Institute (KSI) as a graduate assistant pursuing a Master’s in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. She had previously interned at KSI as a summer research assistant in 2023 and assisted with their research at the Falmouth Road Race in 2023 and 2024.

In the spring of 2024, Julia graduated with honors from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While there, she completed a thesis from her independent research studying molecular and physiological responses in genetically engineered Drosophila melanogaster SOD1 mutants in relation to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Her enthusiasm to join KSI came from her 18-year career as a gymnast. Julia’s research interests include wearable technology and thermoregulation to improve training methods for military personnel, industry workers, and athletes.
