Nia joined KSI in 2023 as the Summer Research Fellow and returned to UConn in Fall 2024 to attain her PhD in Exercise Science as well as her Master’s in Athletic Training. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Occupational Safety and the Assistant Director of Sport Safety.
She received a Bachelors of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in 2024 from the University of Florida, as well as a certificate in AI Fundamentals and Applications. While at the University of Florida, she was a sports performance and analytics intern working with Florida’s women’s basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams and the football program. These experiences developed her interest in sports performance, wearables, and reducing catastrophic injuries and death in sport.
